Since this plugin was installed in 2020 there have been 19000+ spam entries! There may be a couple legit entries but I don't have time to parse it all. Hopefully, after enabling a couple anti-spam settings, you will be able to get through now. Thanks for visiting!

This is a test of the new guestbook. Looks like the old word press plugin might have gone defunct.

We have an old photo of Langlieā€™s Hotel in Steinkjer, listed as Stenkjaer on the photo. Does anyone know more about this?

  Name Entry
2/16/2012 Jack Fischel Hi Leif!
5/3/2011 Mike great Site!
3/6/2011 Konrad Langlie I have a couple relatives already on this site. The guy from Drammen may not know it but my 1st cousin’s(born Langlie) grandson lived in Drammen until recently. I think the name is nearly extinct in Norway. My father and his siblings emigrated over a century ago as adults. There is a generational skipping issue here as I retired from the US Army a couple years ago and still could easily pass the Army physical fitness test.
3/3/2011 Linda Fezler Lowry Just realized that your grandfather is probably not the same Clarence Langlie I knew. My great-uncle had several sisters, Regina, Helga, Alma, Ida, Gusta and a brother John. They were from near Osakis, MN in Todd County and were raised in Long Bridge Lutheran Church.
3/3/2011 Linda Fezler Lowry If your grandfather was Clarence Langlie, then I think he was my great-uncle. My grandmother was Ida Langlie Bjerkan. I’d like to know more information about their mother and father, if you have it. Thanks,
3/1/2011 Dr Sandy Stone drsandystone at aol.com I do have that kind of money!
1/8/2011 Kenneth Langlie Simensen Hi, my name is Kenneth Langlie Simensen, and I live in Drammen,Norway, about one hour southwest(with car) of the capitol Oslo. Yesterday I found a picture of Arthur B. Langlie(gov. of Washington) and showed it to som other Langlies in my family, and they all agreed that my grandpa and his brother bears alot of the same facial trades as him. My branch of the family tree obviously never left, and it would be cool to see if we are the same Langlies… There are, at this date, about 95 Langlies in Norway, so its not unlikely that it could be so. I am going to look into my ancestry and see if I can find traces of any siblings who left… Fun page, I will be stopping by again, definately. šŸ˜‰
7/22/2010 Dave drdavidroberts at gmx.com I love it. I was so happy to come across this page! Keep it up forever!!
3/2/2010 Connie Langlie Christianson My great grandfather was John Langlie, he was a circuit preacher. My grandfather was Clarence Langlie. And my father was Owen Langlie with his brother Arthur Norman Langlie and sister Claire Langlie Luskey. We are from Minnesota. Dad’s family lived by Osakis and when dad grew up he came down to southern Minn. to the Mankato area where he farmed until his death 10 years ago.
12/20/2009 Roger Charles Langlie My father was Charles Ingvar Langlie. My grandparents were Ingvar “Pop” Langlie and Florence Langlie of Hollywood, CA. Looking to connect with the Langlie Family.

5/21/2009 Paul Charles Langlie Hello all. Just happened across this site looking for an address. I am Paul Langlie, brother of Robert (Bob) Langlie & sister Sandy Langlie (now Letcher.) I live in Piedmont, CA, brother Bob lives in Pleasanton & sister Sandy lives in Sun Lakes, AZ along with our parents Lloyd & Carole Langlie. Our grandparents were Paul & Marie Langlie (Monrovia, Ca) & his brother & sister-in-law Lloyd & Dorothy Langlie were in Newport Beach before moving up to norcal in the early ’80’s. Fun seeing all of you on the net. Great opportunity to see where we all live. Paul Charles Langlie birthdate 02/14/1967
4/11/2009 Laura Lee Langlie Handegaard My dad, Eugene Langlie (from Glyndon, MN), is Edward Langlie’s (from Dent, MN)first cousin. I live near Dalton, MN.
3/11/2009 David Miller Hello to all the Langlie’s. I am a sister of Donna, who just signed in so my grandfather is also Oswald (Gopher) Langlie, a son of Josef Andfindsen Langlie and Carrie Dahl. I grew up near Lanesboro, the town to which Josef emigrated and now I live in Champaign, IL. I’ll try to add more information to the Family Tree. By the way, I and several in my family were fortunate to take a trip to Norway last summer, although we did not have an opportunity to visit Trondheim, where Josef grew up.
3/11/2009 Donna (Miller) Springer My grandfather was Oswald Marius (nickname-gopher)Langlie, (1884-1947) who was brother to Bjarne, Benny, Maggy, Agnes,Ing and Hank. I live in Rochester, MN about an hour from Lanesboro. Please visit my family at www.thehillside.info

1/18/2007 Debra Langlie Hey I am from the town of dent minnesota my grandpas name is Edward Langlie and his dads name was Torjus langlie all from the dent area. I know of another group of langlie near theif river falls mn but have now clue how we are related. but anyways i was just bored and found this site so bye.
10/10/2006 Ragnhild Langlie father – Olaf Martin Langlie originally of Hemmes,Norway was 60 when I was born in 1946 – had 2 brothers in Norway – Konrad and Bjarne as well as older half brothers who emigrated here prior to his arrival in early 1900’s. Was friendly with Arthur Langlie, the former governor of Washington – referred to him as a cousin but don’t know to what degree.
2/13/2006 john langlie Hey, everybody, I think I’m the first langlie to be open about his sexual preference to fruit.
12/20/2005 Candy Stauffer This is a recipe I’ve been looking for – I grew up enjoying this wonderful Christmas treat from our Norwegian neighbor, Laura, it brings great memories. Now I’m going to make about a doz. loaves to share with friends! Many thanks for sharing.
11/15/2005 Stein Langlie This is the recipe that my dad, Paul, uses. Growing up, he would make 30+ loaves so that our teachers each got a loaf, not to mention friends and family. Mmmmmmmm.
11/9/2005 Susan Langlie Upson Interesting Julekake recipe. It is almost identical to Nellie Langlie’s recipe that was passed on to her daughter Dorie Langlie Bixby who passed it to her daughter Lynne Bixby Abbey and also to me! Mine never comes out as good as Grandma’s and Aunt Dorie’s but my lefse is out of this world!
8/1/2005 Susan Langlie Upson Ooohhh….I like the look of the new site. I’ve not been by in a while. I’ll check my boxes for some groovy photos…
7/16/2005 Michael D. Kull Greetings Stein – I had lunch w/Jamie who pointed me here. What a terrific site. We should talk soon. Best, Michael

Ah,Stein…youĀ“re forgetting the “famous” statistician Henry Joseph Langlie (your great uncle) who, in the 1960Ā“s created a statistical method of evaluation that is still (to my knowledge) being used as military specification criteria for several branches of the US armed forces. That method is still known today as the “Langlie Method”.
